SUPERVISION

The IGDR is a research institute under the joint aegis of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the University of Rennes 1 (UR1).

The CNRS is a public research organization in France. It is the national scientific authority of the IGDR. In the CNRS, the IGDR specifically depends on INSB, the National Institute of Biological Sciences.

The UR1 is the local authority which hosts the IGDR in its premises.

Both supervision institutions are placed under the authorithy of the Ministère de l’Éducation nationale, de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche (Ministry of Higher Education and Research) of France.

The CNRS and the University of Rennes 1 allocate technicians, engineers, researchers (CNRS) and teacher - researchers (UR1) to the IGDR. They also award an annual operating budget to the institute.

STAFF ORIGIN

Both CNRS and UR1 employ technical staff & researchers (CNRS) and teacher - researchers (UR1). The IGDR also hosts INSERM researchers. The CHU and the CRLCC also affect technicians and hospital practitioners to the IGDR.

EDUCATION

At the University of Rennes 1, IGDR hosts teacher-researchers and technical staff of the Department of Life Sciences and Environment (SVE) campus of Beaulieu of Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine, Campus health Villejean.

The IGDR also hosts teacher-researchers from UFR of Dentistry and UFR of Pharmacy, Villejean Health campus.

The IGDR is a research laboratory which hosts and trains PhD students from VAS (Vie-Agro-Santé) (Main ED) but also accepts PhD students from SDLM (Structure of Matter) (secondary ED).

RESEARCH PLATFORMS

The IGDR participates to the Federal Research Structure BIOSIT (Biology Health Technological Innovation). BIOSIT is also a Mixed Unit of Service (UMS) with 14 science and technology facilities. The scientific direction of 4 of these facilities labeled IBiSA is ensured by IGDR staffs:

  • The imaging facility Microscopy Rennes Imaging Center (MRic),
  • Environmental Genomics and Human facility
  • The histopatology facility H2P2
  • The dog biological resource facility Cani-DNA
