The team each year contributes to the "Fête de la science" scientific event in Rennes for the presentation of our works relative to muscle linked genetic diseases ().
The experience acquired on these events led us to propose an innovative scientific mediation tool with the Espace de Sciences de Rennes and the Polymorph company with the release of the DocMolecules Serious Game.
DocMolecules was presented at several conferences dedicated to numeric innovation and videogames.
We were co-organisers of the local committee for all events of "The year of crystallography 2014". The SIM team scientific results were also presented at the "Lumières" event, part of "The year of ligth 2015".
Members of the team regularly are involved in science discovering research sessions in schools and high schools.
Olivier DELALANDE was invited to give a talk to a TEDx session in Rennes in 2014 (click here to see the conference ).
We have been asked by the US "Cure Duchenne Foundation" to provide scientific information to patient’s families. Our e-dystrophin database tool has proven particularly efficient for that purpose. We
regularly are able to explain to patients families what exactly are the consequences of the mutation their boys are suffering from. This partnership led "Cure Duchenne" to fund a post-doc for one of our research projects in 2013.
We present every year our results to the Association Française contre les Myopathies (AFM) events such as "1000 chercheurs dans les écoles".
The SIM team actively participated to the Telethon opening reception held at the Rennes Health Campus in october 2015.
