In a few words

I am costarican and microbiologist (laboratory medicine). I worked in my country as « associated researcher » in the Tropical Medicine Center at the University of Costa Rica (CIET / UCR). I started my PhD in France in february 2015 and in january 2017, I joined the « Dog Genetics » team for my third year. My thesis is called : Bioinformatic study of bacterial genus Porphyromonas : genomics and microbiota.

My goal is to describe Porphyromonas gingivalis genomic plasticity via re-sequencing, assembly and re-annotation of the 3 reference strains, and to characterize the presence of Porphyromonas genus presence in oral microbiota of several mammals. To do so, I use NGS with innovative approaches using various bioinformatic softwares.
