In a few words

I started my PhD in the « Canine genetics » team in October 2015. The goal of my PhD is to identify mutations in the dog genome that leads to epilepsy crisis. In order to identify these mutations, I am using new high-throughput generation sequencing techniques and I analyze the data using bioinformatics softwares. When the mutations will be identified I will validate them using Sanger sequencing. Then, a functional analysis of the implicated genes will be conducted in order to better understand the implication of the genes in this complex disease and, maybe, to identify new therapeutic pathways.
