Denis CHRETIEN Group investigates the relationships between structure and function of an essential eukaryotic cell component, the microtubule. These 25 nm fibers are involved in fundamental processes such as cell motility, intracellular trafficking, cell compartmentalization, or chromosome segregation during cell division.

  • About

Denis Chrétien established the first ATIPE CNRS team in Rennes in 1999 at the 'Cell and Molecular Interaction' research unit, located on the Campus of Beaulieu. The actual team TIPs was created in 2007, and was transfered to the 'Institute of Genetics and Development of Rennes' in 2012.

Denis Chrétien headed several groups since 1999:

    - Team "Structure and Dynamics of the Cytoskeleton" (SDC, 1999-2003)
    - Team "Structure and Dynamics of Macromolecules" (SDM, 2004-2007)
    - Team "Tubulin and Interacting Proteins" (TIPs, since 2007)

The team hosts the "molecular transmission electron microscopy" platform, which is part of the Microscopy Rennes imaging center (MRic).
